Suitcase? Attache case? Ok, so we’ve stretched the definition a tad here but we figured this case was worth it. Featured in the 1963 James Bond film From Russia with Love this famous case was not packed full of spare undies and a spot of night time reading, oh no.
Apparently it contained the following:
- 50 rounds of .25 ammunition concealed in tubes in the bottom of the case
- Two flat throwing knives hidden in the sides of the case
- A cyanide death pill concealed in the handle of the case, which is released by applying pressure to a certain point of the handle
- A tube of Palmolive shaving cream, whose top unscrews to reveal a silencer for Bond’s Beretta, wrapped in cotton wool
- 50 gold sovereigns in the lid of the case
We don’t recommend any of this, obviously, but felt we just had to feature it in our list of unusual and famous suitcases.
